David Eugene Hollis, of Oktaha passed from this life Tuesday May 18, 2021. He was 70 yrs. old.

Born October 27, 1950 in Wagoner, OK he was the son of William “Bill” and Mabel (Guthrie) Hollis. He received his Associates in Engineering from OSUIT in 1971. Following graduation, he went to work for OG&E and spent his entire career with them. David retired after 43 years of service.
On July 30, 1990 he married the love of his life, Twila Guthrie in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple made their home in Oktaha. David enjoyed camping, car shows, motorcycles and working on antique trucks and tractors. He was active in the OFWW club and participated in the Muskogee Chili Cookoff for many years. He loved spending time with his family at get togethers. He also enjoyed Blue Grass and Southern Gospel music as well as the music of Conway Twitty.
David is survived by his wife Twila of the home; son Aaron Hollis and wife Kassidy and grandchild on the way, daughter Jennifer Morris and husband David, Randy Hollis; six grandchildren Logan, Lauren, Nicholas, Paisley, Kyle and Michael, all of Muskogee and four great grandchildren; five sisters, Ruby Wooten, Bonnie Schroeder, Linda Mayes and husband Mack, Nancy Clark, Tina Hollis and Kyle Hutchins; one brother Gary Don Hollis and wife Sherrie; two sisters in law Zelma Hollis and Judy Hollis; plus numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Billy, Jimmy and Robert “Bob” Hollis, one sister Evelyn Parnell, two brothers in law Darrell Wooten and Terry Schroeder and his parents in law, Virgil Jr. and Maxine Guthrie.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday May 22, 2021 at Christian Chapel with Rev. Garry Guthrie and Rev. Cecil Guthrie officiating. Pallbearers for the service are Aaron Hollis, Justin Middleton, Garrett Smith, Sean Lester, Eric Evans and Steven Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers are Virgil Weston, Clyde McNamee, Raymond Perkins, Glen Greer, Richard Blanchett, Billy Pearson and Monty Mitchell. Interment will follow at Oktaha Cemetery under the care and direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.
