Ruth was a trailblazer. She held many jobs from Postmaster in Gore in the 60’s to small business owner, most notably of Ruthie’s Rustic Ruins. She loved being creative and passed that gene (or tried to) on to many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth loved to paint and quilt. Her paintings and quilts can be found all over the United States if not the world. She loved to travel and took many a road trip throughout her life. She made many friends throughout her time on this earth and inspired love and dedication among those friends as well as her family. Her passing leaves a big hole in the hearts of those she has left behind.
Ruth is survived by her son David Neal Phillips; grandchildren Crysti Myers, Danny Emerson and wife Bertie, John Phillips and wife Twilia, Jennifer Walters and husband Jeff and Amber Watt as well as numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Pete Dyer, a son Roger Phillips and two daughters Linda Thompson and Carol Heppberger. The family would like to thank Kenneth Brown for being her friend and companion and taking care of her these last few years. They would also like to thank Northeastern Health Systems, Sequoyah Hospice program for being kind, caring and gracious during Ruthie’s last few days.
