John Baker Logan III

John Baker Logan III was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on November 6, 1960 to John Baker Logan, Jr and Carolyn Jean Pryor Lowery. When he was a few days old, he was nicknamed Doc due to his physical resemblance to Elmer Fudd. The nickname stuck with family and close friends throughout his 60 years.
Doc’s parents divorced when he was 9 years old. He was the oldest of 10 siblings from multiple marriages on his mother’s side. As a young child, Doc loved to tinker around by taking things apart and then trying to put them back together usually with extra parts to spare. He dropped out of high school and went to work in the restaurant industry in Muskogee and later Tulsa. He married and divorced his first wife Brenda then remarried later to Diana Jones. His only child, Sarah Elise Logan, was born from this union in 1987. He and Diana divorced in 1989.
Doc switched from the restaurant industry to working at American Foundry then later to G & H Decoys. He had a lifelong battle of severe asthma that became COPD by his late thirties. He was no longer able to work at that point in time.
Doc loved to work on stained glass and wood etching when he was younger while listening to his favorite heavy metal bands, Metallica and Iron Maiden. As he got older, he began collecting things like old silverware, antique irons and buffalo head jewelry. He became more of a recluse after his daughter, Sarah passed away at the age of 21.
Doc was proceeded in death by his only child, Sarah Elise Logan; his beloved mother, Jeanne Adair; his constant arguing companion and younger brother, James Logan; and twin siblings, Kevin & Sheila Smith. Survivors include his father, John Baker (Sue) Logan, Jr of Muskogee; sister Lydia (Ralph) Jackson of Tulsa; sister Regina (James) Hall of Perkins; twin brothers Joe & Roy Smith; and twin brothers Roderick & Rory Smith; along with numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and cousins.
Graveside services will be at Holland Cemetery on February 13, 2021 at 11:00 am.
