David Irving was born July 1, 1940 in Braggs, OK the son of Grover and Lowell (Estes) Irving. He passed from this life on February 5, 2020 in Muskogee. He was 79.

David grew up in Braggs and graduated from Braggs High School. He worked as a meat cutter for Santa Fe Meat Packing before going to work for Southwestern Bell. He retired from Southwestern Bell with over 30 years of service. David loved to rabbit and squirrel hunting but especially loved working in his garden. David was a fourth great grandson of Nancy Ward “Nanyehi” Beloved Woman.
Survivors include a brother, Wesley Irving and wife Sharon of Muldrow; sisters Ruth Harris of Tulsa, Nelda Shoemake of Tulsa, Janice and husband Bob Barker of Stillwater and Susan and husband Marvin Gilliland of Fort Gibson; bonus children Angelia and husband Chris Bowley of Fort Gibson, Cynthia and husband Chris Ferland of Tahlequah and Daniel A. (DJ) Gray of Webbers Falls; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews including Ray (Bones) Isbell and Paula Lundell of Braggs and a special friend Ruth Redding and husband David. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives Jean Imboden Irving and Betty Scott Irving; two brothers Kenneth Irving and Sam Irving; one sister Betty Champaign; special brothers in law Lester Harris and Clarence Shoemake and a great grandson Jesse Levi Parker.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday February 13, 2020 at the South Bethel Cemetery Chapel in Braggs under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.
