Judith Ann (Ponder) Brooks, or Judy, 78, long time Fort Gibson resident passed away Monday, May 27th. She was born September 10, 1941 in Senath, MO. She lived in several places throughout Missouri and Arkansas before settling in Oklahoma for over the past 40 years.

Judith married Jerry Junior Brooks on June 11, 1959. They were married until his death in 2004. Most of Judy’s adult life was spent taking care of her home and children, traveling with her husband to wherever he would want to go, and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included all kinds of puzzles, watching birds, taking care of her animals, and watching an abundance of Lifetime and Hallmark movies. Her family members and friends are deeply saddened by her loss, but rejoice that she is reunited with her savior.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents, Truman and Beulah Ponder, brothers, Bobby and Bill, and her sisters, Dorothy and Joyce.
She is survived by her son Terry Brooks, of Muskogee, OK, her daughter, Lisa (Brooks) Eubanks of Fort Gibson, and son and daughter in law, Scott and Shelly Brooks, of Fort Gibson. She is also survived by all her grandchildren: Tracy (Brooks) Stevens and husband Ian, Teri (Brooks) Brazil and husband Josh, Kim (Eubanks) McCarty and husband Anthony, Josh Brooks and his wife Katelynn, Jordan Eubanks, Katy Brooks, Whitney (Brooks) Duren and husband Stacy, and Jacob Brooks. Her great-grandchildren were: Kayleigh Stevens, Lexy Brazil, Peyton Stevens, Chloe Brazil, Miley Brazil, Kadence Brooks, Kolt Stevens, Jax Brazil, Elise McCarty, Case Brooks, Weston Thornton, Madilyn Duren, Daylinn Duren, and her two sisters, Eunice Newman, Barbara Clay. She also left behind many other beloved family members and friends.
Services will be held on Friday, May 31st at Barren Fork Cemetery, in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas at 2pm with Anthony McCarty officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott Brooks, Terry Brooks, Josh Brooks, Jordan Eubanks and Josh Brazil. Honorary pallbearers are: Ian Stevens, Peyton Stevens, Jacob Brooks.
