Herman D. Davison was born July 9, 1925 to Lawrence and Nellie (Payne) Davison in Okmulgee, OK where he grew up. In High school he played football at Quarterback position.

He quit high school early and started working at Tinker Field near Oklahoma City during WWII. A few days after his 18th birthday he was inducted into the Army Air Corps and served in the 8th Air Force in England as an engine mechanic. Later he was reassigned to a Guard Company in Germany.
After the war he spent more time at Tinker Field, then went to tech school at Okmulgee. He majored in diesel mechanics and plumbing & pipe fitting. During the 1950's he worked construction as a plumber/ pipe fitter. September 8, 1951 he married Gloria Golleher of Kansas City. They had 2 children, Gary & Cheryl. They settled in Muskogee, OK where Herman hauled milk from farms to the dairy during the 1960's and drove a dump-truck from 1970 until retirement. Dementia became part of everyday life and necessitated a move to a care center near family beginning in 2009.
Herman is predeceased by his wife Gloria; his daughter Cheryl; and 2 grandchildren. He is survived by his son Gary and wife Becky of western Kansas; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday May 30, 2019 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Homer in Muskogee.
